Volunteer Spotlight: Greg Needham

February's volunteer spotlight shines brightly on the beloved Greg Needham!

Greg discovered The Raptor Trust while diving into an internet search rabbit hole about birds. Given our proximity to their home and a history of family members volunteering here, it was a perfect fit!

Greg is one of our most reliable and dedicated volunteers, always willing to help in any way. Their favorite aspects of volunteering include making new friends, falling in love with pigeons, and the joy of observing birds in their final stage before release.

By far, the bird that captures Greg's heart the most is the European Robin, the first bird they ever recognized and knew by name. Special shout out to Pearl, our resident American Robin, and to catbirds in general as two other top picks for Greg.

With a background primarily in film and TV, volunteering here has been quite the pivot for Greg. Their experience at TRT has inspired them to pursue a full-time career in Animal Care. Staff and fellow volunteers cannot thank Greg enough for their passion and dedication to our organization. We love you, Greg!
