The Raptor Trust is ready to welcome you back for by-appointment, self-guided tours of our outdoor aviary trail!

Self-guided toursWalk along a single direction, clearly plotted course, at your own pace, to view some of the many hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, and vultures that call NJ home. The birds you will see all live here permanently due to injuries that prevent them from being able to survive in the wild.  At the conclusion of your self-guided tour you are welcome to visit our newly renovated gift shop!

Staff-guided tours:  Join one of our staff educators for a guided tour of The Raptor Trust’s outdoor aviary trail. Learn about our mission and history, visit with many of our resident raptors (hawks, owls, eagles, falcons and more!) and learn how their journeys brought them to The Raptor Trust.

Reservations must be made in advance. For more information or to save your spot, click HERE!

The Raptor Trust is pleased to present New York Times bestselling author, Jennifer Ackerman, as the keynote speaker for this year’s Leonard and Diane Soucy Memorial Fund Lecture Series on Sunday, November 1st at 3 p.m. via Zoom.

In this multimedia presentation, Ackerman discusses her research on the secret (and often bizarre!) wonders of the avian world. From fascinating tales of mimicry, plumage, deception, and cooperation, she concludes that bird behavior is like ours in many ways, with cultures as varied and complex as humans’.

Ackerman has been writing about science, nature, and biology for more than three decades. Her book, The Genius of Birds, has been published in 20 languages and was named one of the 10 best nonfiction books of 2016 by The Wall Street Journal. Her current book, The Bird Way, is a New York Times bestseller. Find out more about this groundbreaking book –and other books by Ackerman– here.
