Upcoming Public Events at The Raptor Trust

The Raptor Trust’s education department is thrilled to announce the launch of several new public programs designed to engage visitors of all ages and foster a deeper appreciation for our native birds. We have been hard at work expanding our offerings to provide more diverse and enriching experiences for our community. Whether you’re a family looking for a fun, educational day out or an adult eager to dive deeper into the natural history of raptors, there’s something for everyone in our upcoming programs.

For Families:

One of our upcoming new additions is Fledglings and Families, an interactive program perfect for children aged 8-10 and their parents or guardians. This experience starts with a classroom exploration of our animal artifact collection, where participants will discover the unique characteristics that set raptors apart from other birds. The adventure continues with our migration activity, where learners can experience the challenges of bird migration through a fun, hands-on game. Afterward, families are invited to stroll along our aviary trail and meet some of our resident birds up close. All three dates will be the same program so please only register for one.

For Parents and Little Ones:

For our youngest visitors, Little Wings offers an exciting semester of bird-themed learning for children aged 3-5. These 60-minute classes combine crafts, games, and live bird demonstrations to create a playful and educational experience that is perfectly suited to preschoolers. Register for one class, or all 5, whichever option best fits your schedule!

  • September 11 - Beaks Are Tools

  • September 18 - Animal Superheroes

  • September 25 - Nature’s Cleanup Crew

  • October 2 - Mission Migration

  • October 9 - Birds and People

Parent or guardian attendance is required to ensure a supportive and enriching experience. Tickets are $10 per child.

For Adults and Older Children:

New staff-led tour options! We are excited to continue our new program, the "Small Group Guided Tour." These semi-private tours are perfect for individuals or couples who want the benefit of a guided tour and are interested in sharing the experience with other like-minded individuals. With space for up to 8 people, you can purchase a single ticket instead of reserving the entire hour. Tickets are $25 per person. These tours are not intended for small children.

We are of course still offering private programs for groups of all sizes and ages. More information can be found on our website, or you can email us for more information.
