Luna was found at the JFK Airport, during the winter of 2018, with two fractured wings. She has very limited flight capabilities.
Snowy owls are a rare winter visitor in New Jersey. During “irruptive” years larger than average numbers of Snowy Owls will migrate south along the east coast, in search of food.
