Ollie

Ollie

AMERICAN KESTREL

Ollie was a fledgling when he arrived in July of 2013. He was found in Brooklyn, NY and kept illegally for 14 days. When Ollie arrived at TRT, he was put in with other wild kestrels that were being cared for at the time, but he never developed any natural fear of humans. Though not injured, Ollie became fully “imprinted” on humans and cannot survive in the wild.

Ollie is a handsome, curious falcon and can be very vocal. The American Kestrel is the smallest falcon in North America. Their call is a sharp killy-killy-killy. Small flocks migrate as far as Panama.
