EASTERN SCREECH OWL
Winky was an adult when he arrived in 2006, after suffering an impact injury to his left eye. The eye was so badly damaged, our avian vet had to remove the contents of the eye and suture it shut. Since Winky is a one-eyed owl, he has problems hunting for food and was determined non-releasable.
Winky’s feather pattern is a work of art; he likes to sleep on a large, twisted branch at the top of his aviary.
