Winky was an adult when he arrived in 2006, suffering from an impact injury to his left eye. The e was so badly damaged, our avian vet had to remove the contents of the eye and sutured it shut. Since Winky is a one-eyed owl, he has problems hunting for food and was determined non-releasable.

Winky’s feather pattern is a work of art; he likes to sleep on a large, twisted branch at the top of his aviary.
