Vilma came to us when she was about a year old in July 2003. She was hit by a car and found on the road. Vilma had a compound humeral fracture in her left wing. The wing was pinned and healed slowly due to an infection. As a result of the injury to her wing, she has no sustainable flight. She also has a chronic blood feather problem.
Vilma is a stunning owl, and is known for her beak snapping during educational programs.
