Hampton arrived in November 2005. She was transferred to us from Wildlife Center of the Hamptons. She sustained an impact injury to her right eye. Hampton is not able to hunt for her food. She is a beautiful falcon and is the first raptor to greet you when you take the self-guided tour of our outdoor display aviaries. Peregrine Falcons are the fastest creatures on the planet: in a hunting dive they can fly over 200 mph.
Favorite nesting sites of Peregrine Falcons are high, rocky cliff ledges overlooking lakes, streams or rivers, but they are known to nest on the rooftops or ledges of city buildings and in the steelwork of bridges.
